Program Meeting & Speaker – Wednesday, April 17th, 1 – 3 pm at the Bay Club, 120 Spinnaker Place View Map
The Port Ludlow Art League is pleased to welcome Carolyn Doe as the speaker for their April Program Meeting.
Carolyn’s inspiration comes mostly from the natural landscape that surrounds her at whatever place she is traveling through, working in, or residing at. Her work as a field camp manager and cook around the state of Alaska allowed her to experience wonderful, wild, and remote places. She has also worked as far south as Antarctica experiencing the cold beauty of Antarctica’s changing light that cuts deep to the bone.
Always excited by fiber arts and having been raised by a seamstress, Carolyn started working in batik on silk fabric over 30 years ago. Carolyn is also an accomplished oil painter and her artwork is currently available at Gallery Nine in Port Townsend. At the Program Meeting, Carolyn will demonstrate the batik process and talk about her inspiration and how to get your artwork accepted at galleries. Guests are welcome for a nominal fee of $5.
